ISPTA-Laskhya launched from Gopalpur in Orissa

Berhampur, May 12 (UNI) The Interservices Pilotless Target Aircraft (ISPTA)- Laskhya of sea rpt sea version was successfully launched for the second day today during the last three days over the Bay of Bengal near here.

Defence sources said the Laskhya was first launched on May 10 last at 1255 hours and again at 0933 hours today by the Target Support unit of Army Air Defence College on its maiden flight from Gopalpur Sea ward Firing Range here.

Lakshya, indigenously developed by the Bangalore-based Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) flew for a duration of 35 minutes.

It had been used as a target for firing by Air defence weapon system.

Sources said Director General of Army Air Defence Lt Gen K K Dogra, senior defence officials and a team of scientist from ADE, Bangalore, India Air Force and Navy witnessed the test.
