Industrial output at 7.7 per cent in March 2006

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) Industrial production in the country was at 7.7 per cent in March 2006, but showed a dip from 8.8 per cent in February this year, official figures showed today.

According to the figures, the country's industrial output stood at 8.0 per cent in 2005-06, down from 8.4 per cent in the previous fiscal year.

Manufacturing production rose to 8.9 per cent in March, consumer durables output was at 19.4 per cent and production of consumer goods, like vehicles and televisions, rose to 12.2 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
