High humidity level taxing people

Lucknow, May 12 (UNI) Already reeling under intense heatwave, the increase in humidity level due to the easterlies have added to woes of the people in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Jhansi recorded the maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hrs. Lucknow stood closer at 40 degrees.

The mercury also rose considerably in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Kanpur, Faizabad and Allahabad divisions, the met office said here.

In the next 24 hrs, storms, dusty winds and thundershowers are forecast at scattered places in the state.
