Gold,silver zoomed at all time high

Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) Values of spot gold and silver zoomed at all time high at Rs 10,715 per ten gm and Rs 21,915 per kg due to lesser stock supply, traders at the bullion market today said.

Standard gold (99.5 purity) and pure gold (99.9 purity) opened higher this morning session at Rs 10,525 and Rs 10,575 per 10 gm, respectively.

Both the yellow metals closed at an all-time high at Rs 10,665 for standard mint gold and for pure gold at Rs 10,715 per ten gm with a huge gain of Rs 280 for standard gold and Rs 275 for pure gold from their yesterday's close.

There was increase of fresh demand from ornament makers because of ongoing marriage season.

In London too, gold was quoted high at USD 727.50/728.00 per troy ounce against the previous close of USD 700.50/707.00 per troy ounce in New York on Thursday.

Silver .999 fineness variety also opened upward at Rs 21,980 per kg on improved demand. Later, it closed at all time high at Rs 21,915 per kg with a massive gain of Rs 495 from its previous close.

There was heavy buying support from jewellery-makers due to higher advice from overseas markets.

In London, the white metal was quoted high at US dollar 14.90/14.96 per troy ounce against USD 14.30/14.38 per troy ounce in New York yesterday.

Following were the spot silver and gold closing prices today: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 21,915 (Rs 21,420), Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 10,665 (Rs 10,385), Pure gold 99.9 purity : Rs 10,715 (Rs 10,440).
