EO orders probe into ritual 'cancellation'

Tirupati, May 12 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer A P V N Sarma has ordered an enquiry to the alleged cancellation of the scheduled 'Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam (cleansing of the temple)' at Goddess Padmavathi Temple in Tiruchanoor, near here.

Traditionally performed before 'Vasanthotsavam,' the cancellation caused much displeasure among devotees, a TTD official said here today.

Mr Sarma asked TTD Joint Executive Officer Balaramaiah to enquire into the circumstances leading to the cancellation.The three-day 'Vasanthotsavam' at the Tiruchanoor temple begins today in the temple.
