Delhi EFC clears three projects worth Rs 98 cr

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) Delhi government's Expenditure Finance Committee today gave its nod to three projects amounting to Rs 98 crore, including two for improving power supply in the city.

Two proposals of the Power Department and one project of the Education Department were cleared in an EFC meeting held under the chairmanship of Delhi Finance and Planning Minister A K Walia.

After the meeting, Dr Walia said Rs 91 crore had been sanctioned with an aim to improve power supply in Civil Lines and University areas.

Uninterrupted and stable power supply would also be provided to Chhatrashal Stadium during 2010 Commonwealth Games after completion of the project, with an estimated cost of Rs 61.80 crore.

EFC also cleared another project amounting to Rs 29.16 crore with an aim to provide source of supply to cater the load requirement and improve the power supply in areas of South Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Cantonement.

The Committee also cleared a proposal of the Education Department to construct a 'Pucca' school building at Ashok Nagar, East of Loni Road in East Delhi with an estimated cost of Rs 6.72 crore within period of 18 months.

The new modern building would provide proper education/infrastructural facilities to the students of Ashok Nagar and adjoining areas.
