Cong to analyse Kerala poll debacle
New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) Attributing the rout of the Congress in the Kerala assembly elections to no single factor, the party today said it would prepare a comprehensive report on the reasons of its dismal performance.
That will serve as an input for the future, party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said, adding until an analysis of the factors for the poor performance was carried out the party would refrain from commenting on the poll results.
He told reporters here that it would be wrong to hold any single person responsible for the defeat. There were more than one view on the desirability of having an alliance with K Karunakaran, he said.
Mr Singhvi conceded that the Congress had suffered a loss in Kerala, but claimed that the party had improved its performance ever since the last Lok Sabha elections.
''Our performance since the Lok Sabha elections is much better with a 43 per cent vote share,'' he said.'' We lost our government but we will put the best foot forward.'' UNI YS RL HT1757
