Delhi: Bomb hoax at Palika Bazar shopping centre

New Delhi, May 12: Police went into a tizzy this afternoon following a call of a bomb being placed in New Delhi area's Connaught Circus underground shopping centre 'Palika Bazar', in the heart of the city.

A police official said a call to this effect was received at about 1615 hrs, following which the bomb squad was summoned and the dog squad pressed into service.

''We searched the area, after restricting shopkeepers to their respective bays and vacating the area of customers. However, nothing was found.'' At 1740 hrs we declared the call as 'hoax', he added.
