Air India receives IATA-IOSA certification
Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) Air India today received the IATA-IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) Certification from the headquarters of IATA.
In a message to AI Chairman and Managing Director V Thulasidas, Director General of IATA Giovanni Bisignani said, ''I am pleased to inform you that the audit report has been finalised and that Air India is being placed on the IOSA registry. My congratulations to Air India in achieving the high standards of operational safety required to achieve IOSA registration.'' ''Air India is one of the first carriers amongst the ten global airlines to have got this certification initially in the year 2004.
Due to the expansion programme undertaken by AI which involved induction of 68 aircraft, IATA had suggested certain additional training modules to be completed before they renewed the certificate for the year 2006, a release here today said.
''AI has since completed the requirements for this certification which involved high quality standards assurance coupled with superlative standards of operational safety. AI is the only carrier in India to have this certification,'' the release added.
