Bangalore, May 12 (UNI) Adidas, the leading sports performance brand in the world, will be investing about USD 3.5 million for renovating existing showrooms and setting up new ones in South East Asia.

Talking to newspersons after inaugurating the company's largest Sports Performance Centre (SPC) here, its Managing Director Andreas Gellner said that under the project, about 100 small showrooms would be upgraded and four new big showrooms set up during the year.

Adidas had a market share of 30 per cent, he added.

Claiming that the SPC opened today was the largest in Asia, he said the facilities available at the Centre were similar to those available in its other centres abroad.

To a question, he ruled out possibility of Adidas entering apparel production. It would only be outsourced.

He said the Bangalore SPC, spread across an area of over 9,000 sq ft, spanning two floors, broke away from the traditional retail formats and displayed a revolutionary, international design that was inspired by sports and performance.
