Two businessmen arrested while smuggling more than 50,000 dollars
New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) Two businessmen were arrested from the IGI International Airport here this morning while trying to 'smuggle' more than 50,000 dollars out of the country.
Sandeep Garg and Vineet Goel were arrested at about 1000 hrs after 51,170 dollars, amounting to about Rs 23 lakh, were found stuffed in 'agarbatti' packets kept in their bags, according to a police official.
The two were to board an Emirates flight, bound for Dubai.
Check on their baggage were conducted after their movement raised suspicion among airport officials.
Their interrogation revealed that the money was being taken illegally for some 'benami' transaction.
