Renowned Scientist bags prestigious awards

Bangalore, May 11 (UNI) Renowned Scientist C N R Rao, Linus Pauling Research Professor and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research Honorary President, has been bestowed with two prestigious awards.

The Central Government has honoured him with the National Research Professor and the Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan, with the Degree of Desikottama (D.Lit Honoris Causa), a release from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research here said today.

Prof Rao was chosen for the awards in recognition of his contribution to the development and innovation in the field of Physical Chemistry and application of science for public welfare.
