Nominated members take oath as MLC

Patna, May 11 (UNI) Altogether eleven out of twelve nominated members of Bihar Legislative Council today took oath as Members of Legislative Council(MLCs).

Acting Chairman of Legislative Council Prof Arun Kumar administered the oath to the newly nominated members.

All these members were nominated by Bihar Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi following recommendation of the state cabinet yesterday.

Of the eleven members, who took oath as MLCs, seven were from JD(U) while four were from BJP.

JD(U) members, who took oath included Prem Kumar Mani, Barhamdeo Narain Singh, Aslam Azad, Sanjay Singh alias Gandhi, Shambhu Sharan Shrivastava, Ganesh Bharti and Sheoprassana Yadav.

While those from BJP, who took oath were Ganga Prasad, Dr. Ram Kishore Singh, Sanjay Kumar Jha, and Rajendra Prasad Gupta.

Mr. Aslam Azad of JD(U) took oath in Urdu while Sanjay Kumar Jha of BJP took oath in Maithili.

Speaker of Bihar Assembly Udai Narain Chaudhary, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi were among important dignitaries present on the occasion.
