Major shake up in J

Srinagar, May 11 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet, headed by Ghulam Nabi Azad, today effected a major shake up in the civil and police administration.

In the marathon five-hour-long meeting, the state Cabinet ordered transfer and promotions of several civil and police officials.

The Cabinet met here at 1630 hrs with Mr Azad in the Chair and ended at 2130 hrs.

As many as 25 officials in the civil administration, including several deputy commissioners, have been transfered while there has been a reshuffle of 34 officials in the police department.
