Lakhs looted by bikers

Korba, Chhattisgarh, May 11 (UNI) Six motorcycle-borne youth have robbed a person of about Rs 2.5 lakh near this district's Basibar village, police said.

Yogesh Kumar, who was here on official duty was waylaid by the accused on three bikes yesterday.

Mr Kumar was assaulted after he protested. When some passersby gathered on the scene, the youths fled leaving a country-made gun behind.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot.

''Some substantial clues have been obtained,'' said Superintendent of Police Himanshu Gupta.
