I accept people's verdict: Jaya

Chennai, May 11 (UNI) ''I accept the verdict of the people'' was the reaction of Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa, whose party suffered defeat in the May eight Assembly election in Tamil Nadu.

In a brief statement here, Ms Jayalalithaa said she was demitting the office without any regrets.

''I have done my best for the people of Tamil Nadu and worked hard to the limits of my capacity as Chief Minister for the progress and growth of the state,'' she said.

She also thanked all voters, who cast their votes for the AIADMK and its alliance partners.
