DMK front establishes early leads

Chennai, May 11: The DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) established early leads in at least 12 constituencies at the end of first round of counting of votes polled in the May eight Assembly polls.

The ruling AIADMK was leading in five constituencies, including Andipatti, where party Supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is seeking relection.

DMK President M Karunandihi, who is seeking a record 11th entry into the Assembly, is leading in Chepauk constituency.
