Captain set to win first match

Cuddalore, May 11: Actor Vijayakanth established an unassailable lead of over 14,000 votes over his nearest PMK rival and sitting MLA R Govindasamy in Vrudhachalam after the eighth round of counting.

The actor, making his debut, secured 33,460 votes, while the PMK candidate secured 18,650 votes and AIADMK nominee R Kasinathan 13,256 votes.
