Bird catcher sentenced to 14=day JC

New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjiv Jain today sent a bird-catcher to 14-day judicial custody for carrying more than 400 birds, protected under the Wildlife Protection Act.

Asfaq, who was caught at the Anand Vihar ISBT yesterday while carrying 430 'spotted munias', was sent to JC till May 25.

The court also ordered release of the birds in their natural habitat.
