Amarinder congratulates Sonia Gandhi

Chandigarh, May 11 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today congratulated Congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi over her victory in the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha by-election with a huge margin of over four lakh votes over her nearest rival of the Samajwadi Party.

Capt Singh said that Mrs Gandhi deserved all appreciation for this superb victory as she had demonstrated high moral values by upholding the principles of transparency and accountability by stepping down as Member of Parliament on the office-for-profit issue and seeking re-election.

Her remarkable victory had once again demonstrated the people's verdict thereby reposing full faith and confidence in the policies and programmes of the Congress party, he added.
