Alliance with communal forces helped LDF: KPCC
Thiruvananthapuram, May 11: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President Ramesh Chennithala today said the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front's victory in the Assembly elections was due to its 'unholy' alliance with communal forces.
The CPI(M) would have to pay a high price in future for that, he told reporters, reacting to the poll outcome.
On the UDF's defeat in the elections, Mr Ramesh said, ''the KPCC accepts the people's verdict. We will discuss the reasons that led to the defeat and take corrective steps.'' Mr Ramesh said there was no reason for any 'anti-incumbency' factor for the party's debacle in the elections, as the governments led by Mr A K Antony and Mr Oommen Chandy had launched several welfare schemes for the people.
Asked whether the Congress would go ahead with the tie-up with the DIC(K), he said all the issues would be discussed in the party forum.
