10 killed, 14 injured in road accident

Rajkot, May 11: Ten people, most of them children, were killed and fourteen others injured when the jeep in which they were travelling was hit by a truck near Kuwadva village, about 15 kilometres from here on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway this evening.

The injured have been rushed to the Rajkot Civil Hospital, police said.

Seven of the deceased have been identified as Magnu Shantu (9), Rekha (9), Manju Bhuvabhai (15), Videsh Ratnabhai (25), Arjan Tapoorbhai (62), Pooja Arvindbhai (9) and Ajay Arvindbhai (7).

The jeep was headed for Chotila from here when the mishap occurred, police said.
