UPA should begin preparations for Telangana state: BJP
Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) Alleging that the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) were 'playing games' on separate state issue, BJP National Secretary B Dattatreya today said the UPA should begin preparations to amend the Constitution for Telangana formation.
Talking to newsmen here, Mr Dattatreya said TRS President and Union Labour Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao's statement the bill (on separate state) will be introduced in Parliament during the monsoon session was ''ridiculous''.
It was impossible to introduce the bill without holding a Cabinet meeting, he added.
Referring to recent statements of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President K Keshava Rao that the BJP would introduce private member's bill and adjournment motion on Telangana, he said his party will not take any initative in this regard but support the bill if it was tabled by the UPA Government in Parliament.
Stating Mr Rao and Mr Narendra should resign their Minsterships and come out of the UPA Government, Mr Dattatreya alleged the Congress had conspired to split the TRS.
