Three minors hurt in cracker explosion
Varanasi, May 10 (UNI) At least three children were injured when a cracker with which they were playing went off in the Parsurampur area on the outskirts of the city.
SP (City) Anant Deo told UNI here that a discarded cracker used in fireworks was dumped in a garbage bin. ''The children, believed to be ragpickers, threw it at a wall, resulting in the explosion,'' he said. Two of the injured are siblings.
The blast, which took place around 0630 hrs, left the three injured with burn injuries on their face, stomach and hands. They were rushed to the district hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.
