Three drown in temple tank

Hubli, May 10 (UNI) Three people, including two brothers, drowned in a temple tank at Datanal village near Navalgund in Dharwad district of Karnataka today.

Police said the trio were engaged in cleaning the statue of goddess Durga devi in the tank in view of the annual temple festival when one of them drowned as he slipped and fell into the water. The other two also met with a watery grave when they jumped in to save him.

The victims were identified as Revappa Pujar (45), his brother Mallappa Pujar (30) and Kanakappa Madar (43).
