Reservation: Kumaraswamy confusing people
Hubli, May 10: Senior Congress leader and former Karnataka Minister H Vishwanath today accused Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy of confusing the people over reservation.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the reservation for certain communities was to provide equal opportunity to all those who merited. However, nowadays different definitions were being deliberated in this largest order of democracy committed for social justice.
Referring to Mr Kumaraswamy's assurance to consider the Uppar community's request for including it in the list of Scheduled castes, Mr Vishwanath said ''How can a Chief Minister say this.
There are several formalities for such an exercise. Please do not dilute reservation and create confusion in the minds of the people.
Be careful before assuring anything,'' he added.
Asserting that the delimitation of constituencies by Justice Kuldip Singh Commission was unscientific, he said it should be rectified.
