Policemen commit dacoity, terrorise train passengers

Chhapra, May 10 (UNI) Government Railway Police(GRP) personnel looted cash and valuables from passengers of Lucknow-Barauni express near Ekma village under Chhapra-Siwan section of East Central Railway today.

Deputy Police Superintendent(Rail) J P Yadav said the cops looted cash and valuables from the labourers who were coming from Bijnour district of Uttar Pradesh. They also terrorised fellow passengers who tried to resist.

Havildar Rameshwar Paswan had been arrested while raids were being conducted to nab others.

An FIR was registered with railway police station of Chhapra in this connection.

Departmental proceeding would be initiated against the erring personnel, he added.

The other jawans named in the FIR are Ayodhya Prasad, Shivnath Prasad and Krishna Prasad.
