Srinagar, May 10 (UNI) The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a ruling coalition partner in Jammu and Kashmir, today expressed the hope that all the separatist groups, including the Hurriyat Conference, will respond to the people's yearning for peace and in good faith join the second round-table conference here on May 25.

On the first day of the PDP's two-day General Council meeting here today, the party unanimously adopted a political resolution moved by Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig.

The resolution said the PDP realised that all the parties concerned were at a threshold of far-reaching consequences.

''The second round-table conference, particularly because of its timing and location, is of extremely critical importance. It offers a ripe opportunity for a breakthrough as the expectations of the people of the state are high,'' it added.

The party called upon all the concerned to adopt more realistic and positive positions, saying the occasion was appropriate for a meaningful breakthrough.

''We urge all the parties to come out of the shells of our own making and embark together on a common journey and quest for honour, peace and prosperity,'' the resolution said.

The PDP would push its agenda for a peaceful and dignified resolution of the Kashmir problem with all sincerity and full vigour, it added.
