Official caught taking bribe in AP

Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) A deputy executive engineer with the Andhra Pradesh Vydya Vidhana Parishath in Vizianagaram was caught last night by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a contractor.

In a press release here today, ACB Director General S S P Yadav said P Venakteswara Rao sought Rs one lakh as illegal gratification from the contractor for release of earnest money deposit and other deposits of Rs 60,000.

Rao would be produced before the III Additional District Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge for ACB cases at Visakhapatnam, he added.
