NCC camp for girl cadets begins

Tirupati, May 10 (UNI) The first combined annual training camp (CATC-I) for NCC girl cadets of Chittoor, Nellore and Kadapa districts, began at Sri Padmavathi Women's College premises here today.

The camp for the academic year 2006-07, was inaugurated by Commanding Officer of the Fifth Andhra Girls battalion Lt Col Jude Reque, last evening.

Altogether 223 senior wing girl cadets and 413 junior wing cadets from the three districts are taking part in the camp. They will be trained in rock climbing, self defence, yoga and mediation.

A fire-fighting demonstration is also scheduled to be held during camp.
