Heatwave grips Orissa, Rajasthan

Pune, May 10 (UNI) Heat wave conditions prevailed in North West Rajasthan and some parts of coastal Orissa, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh.

Hot day conditions also prevailed in some parts of Haryana, South West Rajasthan and Marathwada.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Assam and Meghalaya, Manipur, coastal Orissa, Madhya Pradesh and in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and remaining parts of Rajasthan, South Madhya Maharashtra, South interior Karnataka and were above normal in some parts of Gujarat region, Saurashtra, North Chattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

They were appreciably below normal in East Uttar Pradesh and in some parts of interior Orissa, West Uttar Pradesh and in remaining parts of Haryana.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, North Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh State, Tamil Nadu, South interior Karnataka and Kerala.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the South Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal and North interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Assam amnd Meghalaya, Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa and at many places in Gangetic West Bengal and at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in East Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
