CCMB and NIMS to set up Stem Cell Research Centre
Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and the Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences here would set up a Stem Cell Research and Tissue Engineering Centre to encourage research in medicine.
Speaking to newspersons here, CCMB Director Dr Lalji Singh said the new research centre would come up in five acres of land near GE Capital, Uppal, at a cost of Rs 22 crore.
He said the premises would be called CCMB Annexe-II and the institute will start functioning from next year.
Dr Singh said clinical research would be supported by NIMS and basic research by CCMB.
