Airtel launches Aashiana in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 10 (UNI) Leading mobile service provider, Airtel, and Child Nurture and Relief (CHINAR), today jointly launched ''Aashiana'' chapter here.

Besides providing quality education and psychosocial rehabilitation, the objective of the plan is to equip children, especially orphans, with the means to have a productive and peaceful future, an Airtel spokesman said.

Airtel will sponsor the tuition as well as medical facilities for the children, he said.

A doctor would visit CHINAR once a week as per the plan, he added.

A painting competition for children was also organised on the occasion to encourage them in playing a positive role in their communities by participating in volunteer activities.

CHINAR is an independent non-profit organisation working for the psychosocial rehabilitation of orphaned and vulnerable children irrespective of race, religion, culture or gender.
