Wipro, Oracle for online surveillance in BSE
Mumbai, May 9: Wipro Infotech and Oracle today jointly announced that they have successfully implemented the phase-I of the real-time market surveillance system called 'BSE Online Surveillance System Integrated (BOSS-i)' in Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
BOSS-i caters to BSE's complex market vigilance requirements and promotes market integrity by providing a captured trading data in equities and derivatives market.
Addressing a news conference here, Wipro Infotech Chief Executive Rajat Mathur said, ''This system (BOSS-i) helps in detecting potential market abuses in a much efficient manner and this deployment is a testimony of our capabilities in data warehousing, business intelligence and domain understanding.'' He said the company had deployed Oracle Times Ten which is a In-Memory database programme that empowers applications with instant responsiveness and very high throughput for performance and critical functions in real-time.
Mr Mathur added: ''This complex data warehouse and intelligence model permits scenario detection analysis, query and reporting.'' BSE Managing Director and CEO Rajnikant Patel said, ''This is a truly integrated market surveillance system, interfacing with source systems within BSE. Among other benefits, this solution will help us in improving the speed of investigations and catering to regulatory requirements.'' It comprises alert generation engine and provide rules-based advanced analytics and its integrated structure permits surveillance on all major parameters for any suspicious activity, he added.
Oracle India Pvt Ltd Managing Director Krishan Dhawan, speaking on the occasion, said the company's Times Ten In-Memory database was the foundation product for real-time data management and it could power mission critical components of the stock exchange's surveillance system.
