UP heatwave toll reaches 27
Lucknow, May 9 (UNI) Three more heat wave deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in Uttar Pradesh taking the toll at 27.
The fresh deaths were reported from Ferozabad, Siddharthnagar and Sant Kabirnagar districts.
Jhansi recorded the maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees above normal.
Meanwhile, the UP capital recorded a maximum of 37 (-3) degrees.
The met office has forecast no respite from heat wave conditions for the time being.
In the last 24 hrs, the weather remained mainly dry throughout the state. Velocity winds, however, are likely at sporadic places.
Due to persisting power crisis in UP, the problems of the people is compounded with long spells of scheduled and unscheduled rostering.
