RBI rupee ref rate eight paise down at 44.96 per USD

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate for rupee at 44.96 per US dollar, which is eight paise down from the previous rate of 44.88, an official spokesperson here said.
