Locals agree to shift shrine

Jabalpur, May 9 : Locals have set an example by agreeing to relocate a temple situated on the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB) premises.

The MPSEB submitted a petition in the high court for shifting a Saibaba shrine from the Shakti Bhavan trijunction near Shankarnagar.

The bench directed the district collector to take a decision after hearing all parties. The bureaucrat noted that the temple was within a prohibited area.

On May 7 the district administration conducted discussions with MLA Harendrajit Singh Babbu and other locals including shrine committee members.

The idol was shifted to a nearby temple.
