JNTU to start new engineering college
Hyderabad, May 9 : Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, would start a new engineering college this year at Pulivendula in Kadapa district, the constituency of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Talking to newspersons here JNTU Vice Chancellor K Rajagopal said admissions for the academic year, would be done in five branches of engineering.
He said the branches would include Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, and Engineering and Bio-Technology.
Dr Rajagopal said the engineering college would be set up in an area of 160 acres.
The government has sanctioned Rs 3.5 crore for the project and an amount of Rs 17.5 crore had been allocated in the budget, he said yesterday.
