Governor calls for modification of Recruitment rules

Bangalore, May 9 (UNI) Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi today called for modification of Recruitment Rules and inclusion of psychological tests for candidates entering police force.

Speaking after distributing President Police Medals here, he said that "the Recruitment Rules needs to be modified and the candidates aspiring to service in police force should be subjected to psychological tests. These tests should be held frequently during the service also".

Mr Chaturvedi said that there was also a necessary to provide technical training to the serving police personnel to keep abreast with latest technological developments.

Stating that the role of Police in a democratic country is vital in not only maintaining Law and Order but also to maintain social status in the society.

Public should not be afraid of police but in turn help in curtailing crime. "The task of police in a changing society is very difficult. Police should strive for maintaining peace", he added.
