EC orders repoll in 18 polling stations in TN

Chennai, May 9 (UNI) The Election Commission ordered repoll tomorrow in 18 polling stations falling under ten Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu.

State Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta told reporters here this evening that the repoll was ordered due to technical problems - malfunctioning of electronic voting machines was reported at some places during yesterday's polling.

The repolling would commence at 0700 hrs tomorrow, he added.

The 18 booths fall under Anna Nagar, Tirutani, Sriperumbudur, Mugaiyur, Palacode, Aathur, Vedachandur, Kolathur, Virudhunagar and Vasudevanallur constituencies.

Counting of votes would commence at 0800 hrs on May 11.
