BSF's special summer operation to step up border vigil
Jaisalmer, May 9 (UNI) The Border Security Force (BSF) will begin Operation 'Sajag Prahari' (Alert Soldier) from May 22 on the western front, to step up vigil on the international borders with Pakistan.
BSF's Additional Director General (Rajasthan Frontiers) B L Chauhan said, every year the BSF conducts Operation 'Garam Hawa' to protect and guard the borders inspite of the prevailing heat wave conditions. This year the operation's name has been changed to 'Sajag Prahari' from Garam Hawa which will be on till May 31'' He said the main aim of the operation is to reinforce and strengthen the BSF activities carried on at the borders.
He said infiltration by anti-social elements increase on the borders during extreme summer, hence the operation is being conducted to stop such activities.
