BJP seeks amnesty for illegal constructions in Delhi

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) The Centre should regularise all illegal constructions in Delhi by announcing an amnesty scheme, the state BJP unit said today.

Allowing construction of one additional floor will mean the construction of 25 lakh housing units, party state unit chief Harsh Vardhan said, claiming that this would help resolve the housing problem to a great deal.

''Demolition of structures constructed by encroaching public land is justified, but if somebody has constructed something additional, additional floor, opened a shop in his house for his livelihood due to the increase in the size of his family then the Government has no right to seal or demolish them'', he asserted.
