SJFI Convention begins tomorrow
Thiruvananthapuram, May 8 (UNI) The 32nd Annual Convention of the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) will begin here tomorrow with various sports competitions and symposiums for sports journalists.
Talking to newspersons here today, SJFI Secretary G Viswanath said the key topic in the Convention, would be the BCCI's decision to allot Rs 50 crore for Olympic disciplines.
Former All-England Champion Prakash Padukone and Olympian P T Usha, will jointly inaugurate a sports symposium in connection with the opening ceremony.
Nearly 120 sports writers from 17 states, would take part in the five-day convention, which would be presided over by SJFI President Sandeep Nakai.
Besides, a World Cup football quiz by Gautham Bhimani, Inter-Zone cricket tournament for the J K Bose trophy, Bali Trophy for table tennis, putting and penalty kick competitions would be conducted for the sports scribes, he added.
