Putin, Merkel discuss Iranian nuclear problem
Moscow, May 8: Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the Iranian nuclear problem with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
In a telephonic conversation, both exchanged opinions on the Iranian nuclear problem along with West Asia and other international issues, the Kremlin press service said today.
The call was initiated by the German side, in connection with the draft resolution on Iran in the United Nations Security Council, submitted by Britain and France with the support of the US.
Russia and China have opposed the draft resolution, saying it might open way for sanctions against Iran.
