Person gets lifer for murdering cousin

Patna, May 8 (UNI) A sessions court today awarded life imprisonment to a man for killing his cousin.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs. 20,000 against the convict.

Additional district and sessions judge of Patna Jayant Kumar Sen found Bijay Shankar Pandey guilty of killing Mithilesh Kumar,who happened to be the convict's cousin.

The judge, however, acquitted Balkrishana Pandey, the uncle of the victim, an accused in the same case.

Accourding to the charges, victim Mithilesh Kumar was shot dead by Pandey under Gourichack police station area of Patna district in 2000. The reason behind the killing was said to be an old dispute of ancestral property.
