Mahajan's ashes immersed in Godavari

Mumbai, May 8 (UNI) The ashes of senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, who succumbed to bullet injuries at the P D Hinduja Hospital here on May three, were today immersed at 'Ramkunda' in the Godavari river in Nasik.

The urn containing the ashes was taken to Nashik this morning for the immersion by Mr Mahajan's son Rahul and brother-in-law and BJP group leader in the Maharashtra Assembly Gopinath Munde.

Also accompanying were party's State unit President Nitin Gadkari and general secretary and MLC Vinod Tavade and city unit chief Prakash Mehta, a party release said here said.

Nashik Mayor Balasaheb Sanap were among hundreds of people who offered their tributes to the departed leader as the urn containing the ashes were taken through the Nasik city before being taken to Godavari river.
