KPIT Cummins Infosystems adopts Cadence's AMS methodology kit

Mumbai, May 8 (UNI) Integrated IT solutions provider KPIT Cummins Infosystems Limited has adopted the Cadence AMS Methodology Kit to help its anolog mixed-signal (AMS) designers simplify the application of Cadence technology.

A KPIT Cummins release issued here today said AMS design was a key component in consumer and wireless electronics.

The release said the kit was based on the virtuoso custom design platform, with links to the encounter digital IC design platform and the incisive functional verification platform. The components of this kit addresses key productivity challenges, which affect the predictability and risk of AMS design such as fragmented analog, digital and verification design processes as well as parasitic effects in AMS, multiple power supplies and AMS design migration and reuse.

''We were looking for a proven design methodology that would enable seamless tape-outs with shorter, more predictable design cycles and Cadence was the only partner to offer a verified methodology that would help us focus on design differentiation rather than design infrastructure,'' said Kishor Patil, CEO&Managing Director, KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd.

The Cadence AMS Methodology would enable the company to provide innovative product-and systems-engineering solutions across semiconductors and automotive and industrial electronics, at optimal costs and faster time to market, he added.

Cadence is a USD 1.3 billion company, headquartered in San Jose, USA. It specialises in global electronic-design innovation.

Customers use Cadence software and hardware, methodologies and services to design and verify advanced semiconductors, printed-circuit boards and systems used in consumer electronics, networking and telecommunications equipment, and computer systems.
