Jnan Prakash is new CGDA
New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) Mr Jnan Prakash, an Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) Officer of the 1971 batch, has assumed charge as Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA).
An alumnus of Patna University, Mr Prakash has held important appointments in the Defence Accounts Department, including the post of Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (NC) Jammu, Chief Controller (Pensions) Allahabad and Controller of Defence Accounts (R&D) New Delhi.
In his so far 35-year-long career, Mr Prakash has also served on prestigious assignments in the Defence Ministry as Additional Financial Adviser and also as Member (Finance) in the Ordnance Factory Board, Kolkata.
As CGDA, Mr Prakash will head the more than 250-year-old Defence Accounts department which provides financial/budgetary, accounting, payment, financial advice and internal audit services to the Army, Navy and Air Force besides other organisations like the Ordnance Factories, Coast Guards, Border Roads and Defence Research&Development establishments under the Defence Ministry.
