Heat wave conditions continue in northern India
Pune, May 8 (UNI) Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in northwest Rajasthan and at isoated places in Haryana and Punjab. Heat wave conditions also prevailed in Vidarbha and in some parts of Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, and north madhya Maharashtra.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, appreciably above normal in some parts of Assam, Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, south madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, north Chattisgarh and in remaninig parts of Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan and were above normal in some parts of coastal Orissa, Gujarat, Rayalseema and Kerala. They were appreciably to markedly below normal in Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, east Uttar Praesh and were below normal in Konkan and south Chattisgarh. They were normal over the rest of the country.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and mainly dry weather will prevail over Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka.
Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Lakshadweep.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, and at few places in Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Uttaranchal, madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.
