Haryana disburses Rs 1552 crore on wheat procurement
Chandigarh, May 8 (UNI) The Haryana government has disbursed a sum of Rs 1552.58 crore to the farmers for procuring 22.18 lakh tonnes of wheat so far during the current rabi season.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said altogether 29.27 lakh tonnes of wheat had so far arrived in the mandis of the state of which 22.18 tonnes had been procured by the six government procurement agencies.
He said Haryana state co-operative supply and marketing federation- (HAFFED) had disbursed a sum of Rs 586.39 crore while Food and Supplies Department had made payment of Rs 343.70 crore to the farmers so far. The Food Corporation of India had paid Rs 187.17 crore, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation Rs 166.23 crore, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 151.32 crore and CONFED 117.77 crore.
He said the government was providing Rs 650 per quintal to the farmers besides Rs 50 per quintal bonus to the farmers.
Of the total Haffed had procured 8.37 lakh tonnes of wheat, Food and Supplies Department 4.91 lakh tonnes, Food Corporation of India, 2.67 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 2.37 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 2.16 lakh tonnes and CONFED had procured 1.68 lakh tonnes.
